Optimal Control of 1-qubit System

MIZOBE Kimitake

23rd April (Fri)

Quantum computing is based on the set of "qubit", which can take superpositions of both "0" and "1". The 1-qubit system is a mathematical model of the least number of the "qubit". This system has been studied as the system of a spin 1/2 particle. In this talk, a state of 1-qubit system is represented by either an element of the matrix Lie group SU(2) and a Bloch vector. Then, we formulate the optimal control problem and show that the orbit under the optimal control follows the geodesic.
