The Peter-Weyl theorem provides a method for reducing quantum systems with symmetry. The method applys to three-body systems to impose suitable boundary conditions for wave functions at singular configurations. Here singular configurations means those configurations at which the rotation group SO(3) acting on the three-body system has non-trivial isotropy subgroups. Practically, the singular configuratios under consideration are collinear configuratins and a triple collision.
