An etude of regularizing 'reduced varieties'

Symplectic manifolds の symplectic group action に よるreduction（簡約化）のスキームは、Marsden-Weinstein によって1974年に定式化されている。Reductionの遂行は、

(1) moment mapのlevel setがsubmanifoldであること、
(2) moment mapがlevel set上でとる値のisotropy subgroup actionが、level set上でfreeであること、

とが前提となっている。多くの少数多体系の力学系では これらの条件は壊れており、reduced manofoldならぬ reduced varietyが出現するであろう。このvarietyを regularizeする練習として、T^*{\bf R}^2 をSO(2)- reductionを再考する。
