In this talk, we will show the existence of periodic orbits in the planar circular restricted 3-body problem by using the variational method. We first focus on the case of equal masses and show the existence of symmetric periodic orbits. Next we extend it to the case of general masses. This is joint work with Mitsuru Shibayama.
